Other birth dates in the records of the Family History Library are 1623,
1624, 1625, 1634 and 1635. Considering the date of her marriage, the
last two dates would be impossible and 1624 is unl ikely, since that would
have occurred in New Amsterdam (or at least in New Ne therlands) and the
first recorded birth in New Amsterdam was that of a boy in 1625. This is
about the only historical record of early New Amsterdam that has
survived; it does not seem possible that Sarah DuTrieux was born there
before the boy and that the definitive record of her birth has been
lost. Th e Association of Philippe DuTrieux Descendants lists her birth
year as 1625.
Patricia A. Truax says that she died in New Amsterdam, New Netherland,
but b y the time of her death it had been renamed "New York."
Her name is often spel led "Sara."
