INFORMATION: Jeremiah Austin, son of Robert; d. 1754; resided at Kingst own, Exeter, RI; m. Elizabeth ?; 1687 Sept. 6, taxed 1s. under Govenor A ndros' levy. 138 inhabitants were taxed. The largest amount being pai d by Major Richard, 1 lb., 19s., 10d.; 1720-He and son Jeremiah Jr. att ended town meeting. This year the town was divided into North & South K ingstown. Twenty years later Exeter was set off from N. Kingstown, and J eremiah Austin, though found successively in three towns, may yet have l ived on one piece of land. 1752 Mar. 6, Will proved 1754. Executrix, w ife Elizabeth. He signed by mark, perhaps through infirmity of age, fo r he calls himself weak "Weak in body and well striken in years". To w ife Elizabeth, two feather beds, iron pot, all the pewter, two iron ket tles, and all movable estate. He mentions no real estate, which had per haps been already divided to his children. At the time of his decease t here were seven Austins bearing the name of Jeremiah, viz: Jeremiah, Je remiah, r., Jeremiah, 3rd., Jeremiah, son of Robert, Jeremiah, son of P asko, Jeremiah, son of Ezekiel, Jeremiah, son of Robert.
